Club Chemistry
Club Chemistry is the city's big night out, with three floors of music on Station Road East, by Canterbury East station. Floors run from chart hits to underground beats, with R&B, hip hop and throwback themes on rotation. Its own students page says there are student events every week, with Wednesdays built around R&B and hip hop.

Tokyo Tea Rooms
Tokyo Tea Rooms on St George's Place calls itself a boutique late-night cocktail bar, but after dark it runs proper club nights. Its Fatsoma page lists regular Indie Rock Nights, Face Down pop punk, metal and emo nights, plus Y2K parties and big themed specials. A strong pick if chart music isn't your thing.

The Venue
The Venue is Kent Union's nightclub on the University of Kent campus, billed on its own site as the city's biggest single-room club. Wednesday is VENSDAY, its weekly student night, and its Fatsoma page also lists big themed parties and daytime events. If you live on campus, the walk home is about as short as it gets.
